One Response to “Concert: Lighten Our Darkness”

  1. Mrs Sheila Reid Says:

The concert was an eyeopener to me. I didn’t know that Aberdeen has such an accomplished choir. I regularly attend “La Chaise Dieu” festival in France, which features choral works old and new, so it was wonderful to sit in my home town and hear work of comparable quality. The James MacMillan “Tenebrae Responsories” was superb and very moving in composition and performance. It is rare to hear contemporary work in Aberdeen, described last week by a features editor from STV as ‘commonly regarded as a cultural desert’. I see from your catalogue of performances that Con Anima that I could have heard more 20th century and contemporary work, as well as established classics and will look out for future events. I have attempted to register to receive your newsletter, but was unable to confirm email address. Hopefully this can be rectified. Sincerely, Sheila Reid
